How We Size an STP for Your Apartment
Sizing starts with the number of flats and expected occupancy. As a practical guide, a flat generates around 0.5 KL of sewage per day, so a 100-flat community needs a plant of roughly 50 KLD. We then add a margin for peak flows, clubhouse and swimming pool usage, and future occupancy.

Best STP Technologies for Apartments
MBBR – The Most Common Apartment Choice
MBBR plants are compact, tolerate the daily rise and fall in flow, and are easy for apartment maintenance staff to operate. They are our default recommendation for most residential projects.
MBR – For Premium Projects and Maximum Reuse
MBR plants use membranes to deliver very clear treated water in the smallest footprint. They suit luxury projects, basements with limited space and communities that want to reuse most of their water.
Packaged STP for Existing Apartments
Older apartments often have no STP or a failed one, and no room for new civil tanks. A packaged STP built in FRP or MS can be placed in a small open area or parking corner with minimal disruption to residents.
Treated Water Reuse Saves Real Money
In many Coimbatore apartments, summer means buying tanker water every week. Treated STP water, after filtration and disinfection, can be reused for toilet flushing, landscaping and car washing. Flushing alone accounts for a large share of daily water use in a typical flat, so reusing treated water noticeably reduces the fresh water you have to buy. We design the plant and the dual-plumbing connection so that reuse actually happens.
For Builders: Getting the STP Right from Day One

Planning the STP Room in an Apartment
Where the STP sits matters as much as how it is built. Basement plants need proper ventilation and an exhaust so that air from the tanks does not enter parking areas or lift lobbies. Blowers should be placed in an acoustic enclosure away from bedrooms. There must be clear access for a sludge tanker and for replacing pumps and diffusers. We mark these requirements on the layout early, so the builder does not have to compromise later and the residents do not inherit a plant that is hard to maintain.
